March 23, 2020

Pension payments will be processed as usual, without interruption.

March 23, 2020: As Rhode Islanders continue to take measures to contain the spread of the Coronavirus disease COVID-19, the health and safety of you, our members, remains our top priority.

ERSRI is open and operational.  The coming weeks will be challenging for everyone. ERSRI is especially sensitive to the fact that many of our members, both active and retired, are dealing with significant impacts as a result of COVID-19.

To those of you on the front lines ensuring public health and safety, to the educators who are implementing distance learning plans, and to the retirees keeping socially distant from your loved ones -we know that you are depending on us more than ever.

In order to contain the spread of COVID-19:

  • Please, do not to come to the Service Center unless it is a necessity. We will gladly help you with any issue via phone, email or online.
  • We are postponing all Group Retirement Counseling sessions through at least the end of March and will reach out to affected members individually to discuss alternate options.
  • Appointments with Retirement Counselors will be held over the phone. If you have an appointment, your retirement counselor will be in touch to discuss details.

If you have questions, please call the ERSRI Member Service Center at 401-462-7600. Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. or by e-mail at ersri@ersri.org

Additional resources, including fact sheets and forms, are available anytime here at ERSRI.org

Maintaining a safe workplace for our employees is a priority. We are encouraging commonsense practices to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, which may temporarily reduce staffing levels. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Unclaimed Property Program is Open and Returning Cash to Rhode Islanders

Your_Money_Logo

The economic impact of the Coronavirus pandemic is hitting families and household budgets across Rhode Island and the country. Especially now, every dollar counts.

The Rhode Island Treasurer's office has over $300 million of missing money that is waiting to be claimed and returned to its rightful owner.

Unclaimed property can include money left in old bank accounts and safe deposit boxes, un-cashed paychecks, unused balances on gift certificates, un-returned utility deposits, uncollected insurance payments and forgotten stocks and dividends.

Unclaimed property is held in safekeeping on behalf of individual Rhode Islanders, as well as businesses and nonprofits. Searching for and claiming property is free, and simple. Visit findRImoney.com to begin the process.
